Last chance for this holiday season!
More than 100,000 lights adorn trees and displays during McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park’s Holiday Lights celebration this season. Holiday Lights runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. through Saturday, Jan. 3.

Once a year, my family piles in the car and goes for a drive in search of the biggest and best holiday light displays. Our favorite neighborhood display closed down several years ago when one of the homeowners got sick, and we are still searching for a new light creation to capture our imagination.
AZCentral has posted maps so that you can pick and choose the houses you’d like to see around the valley. It’s a great outing to share with your family and friends.
Tonight’s the big night at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. A long-time tradition in the city, the train park is a wonderland of light displays that can only fully be seen from the train. Festivities kick off tonight (Friday, December 12th) at 6:30 with a tree lighting, entertainment, and a visit from Santa.
Wednesday night, I attended “A Special Night for Special Kids“, and got a sneak preview. The mom who chaperoned my son and his friends on the train ride, got off the train saying that “this year was the best year ever”. My husband and I skipped the ride, so the throngs of kids with special needs could get their free ride. We are going back to ride the train and see the full display first hand. Even if you don’t ride the train, you can still see a great holiday light display.
Here are a few of the photos and a short video clip to give you a preview. They’ll give you an idea, but the real thing is so much better!

Holiday Lights runs nightly from 6:30 to 9 p.m. through Saturday, Jan. 3, excluding Dec. 24, 25 and 31. Santa will be there nightly through Dec. 23. If you’d like more information, call (480) 312-2312.
