In case you haven’t heard, there’s a really cool new butterfly exhibit in Scottsdale. Butterfly Wonderland, is located just northeast of the Via De Ventura exit on the 101 and it’s a fabulous place to see and experience a wide variety of butterflies.
Here are just a few of the many amazing types of butterflies on exhibit:
There’s a 3-D movie about monarch butterflies and their migration from Michigan to Mexico, plus a few aquariums that you can visit once you’ve completed your tour of the butterfly atrium.
The butterfly atrium is billed as the world’s largest, and home to thousands of butterflies. It’s an amazing experience and one to be enjoyed. Some of the butterflies are very large. They will even land on you, and fly all around you at times. Be forewarned, the atrium is very warm and humid, so dress accordingly. If you like to take photos, be sure to take your camera, because there will be lots of opportunities.
One other interesting tidbit… when I signed up for my membership, the staff told me that there are plans for an aquarium on the same site, and that it is projected to be completed in about two years. That’ll be cool!
