Scottsdale has some amazing weather. And, yes, I’m actually saying that on the first day of summer, while looking at a forecasted high of 111°F.
I remind myself that winters are wonderful, and this past spring was absolutely incredible. We are just now getting our first really hot days, and it’s already the middle of June.
No doubt about it. Summers are definitely hot, but with the low humidity of May and June, it’s very bearable.
Monsoon season hits about the 4th of July, and lasts usually until mid-September. That’s when we get higher humidity, and many residents head to the mountains or California to cool off.
It’s during these hot days of summer when it’s helpful to remember that the weather here is outstanding 8-9 months of the year.
Winter highs average in the 60’s and 70’s. Nights cool off, but rarely below freezing. We get a bit more rain in December, but not much at all.
Fall and spring are gorgeous, with lot of sunny weather in the 80’s.
So for the next couple of months, we’ll be looking for shade, staying cool, and knowing that it’s worth waiting for those amazing days ahead.
