My father-in-law, Byron C. Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, after breaking his hip about a month ago. A good man.
I’ve written about him a couple of times, and I feel compelled to share again.
He met Dorothy in 2nd grade, and they were married 60-some years.
A retired architect.
He had vision, a critical eye, and built some incredibly unique and forward-looking homes, jumping into passive solar in the 70’s.
He didn’t like to make a fuss about anything, especially himself.
So today, I pay him a quiet tribute.

thanks for sharing Dru. Rest in Peace Byron.
Hi Dru – Nice comments about Uncle By – thanks for doing this. I talked to Aunt Dorothy and think she is doing well. I live in Tenn and have one son, Jamie who spent a day with Brian many years ago touring a building Brian was working on. My father was Uncle Byron’s brother. Enjoyed reading your tribute. pat
Thank you, Kerry.
Hi Pat. It’s been a long time since we’ve connected. I think the last time was over dinner at a BBQ restaurant near the Pointe on 7th St. Matt was still really young!
