Got shredder overload? Scottsdale Police can help

by Dru Bloomfield on October 27, 2010

shredder-overload

I have a job that can generate a lot of paper, and although I’m using my scanner a lot more, I still get behind on my shredding.  When that happens and I have more than my personal shredder can handle, I’m really grateful that the Scottsdale Police Officers of Scottsdale Association hosts document shredding events on a regular basis.

The next event is Saturday, October 30th from 10 am to 2 pm, at the Sunflower Market Parking lot at 4402 N Miller Road, and includes the following:

  • On-site document shredding by Cintas.
  • BBQ provided by Sunflower.
  • Drop off expired & unused medications
  • Have your child fingerprinted.

All to benefit “SHOP WITH A COP”. Donations accepted for the shredding and BBQ services. Kid fingerprinting and drug collection are free.  Suggested donation for shredding is $2 per box.

Here are a few photos from the day.  The event was well run, and I found it really reassuring to know my confidential papers were shredded immediately.

Mobile Shredding Unit Trucs by Cintas

Cintas was the document shredding service provider at this Scottsdale event.

Mobile document shredding truck used for Scottsdale event

Trash bins are filled and then rolled into this lift.  Controls are just to left of lift.

Recycling paper - mobile on-site truck

Documents are dumped into truck and shredded on site.

Here’s a very quick video of the last half of the process.

I also discovered, after the fact, that there was a second event held in North Scottsdale last Saturday.  As soon as I get the news, I’ll let you know when the next events are planned.
