When One Door Closes….

March 3rd, 2008 by Dru Bloomfield · 2 Comments

Today is Alexander Graham Bell’s birthday, and the reason I know this is because of the Google search screen.  I’ve seen the various graphics that Google uses, but until today, did not know that they link to current information.

My first job out of college was with Bell Laboratories, which is the research and development arm of AT&T.  I loved it.  We were in the midst of a major development, and I was surrounded by like-minded people who were working and playing together, creating new products.  It was an amazing time of  collaboration, frustration, challenge, and success.

As part of our corporate indoctrination, we often received internal marketing materials to understand what our company was all about.  One piece in particular, made such a huge impression, that I mounted it on my desk.

“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”

Alexander Graham Bell
U.S. inventor (1847 - 1922)

In real estate, we have many opportunities in front of us, to buy, to sell, to help others preserve their homes.  Let’s start this week off by looking to the future and seeing the possibilities.

There are always possiblities and options when we take the time to look at the situation. I love the quote from Alexander Graham Bell.

    Thanks, Irene
