Scottsdale Police are reporting an increase in vacant home burglaries this past year and suggest that home owners take an active role in making their property look occupied.
Here are their suggestions for protecting a vacant home:
- Maintain exterior and yard so it looks occupied
- Close blinds so no one can see rooms are empty
- Pick up any mail and fliers
- Neighbors should call police about any suspicious activity
