OK, I admit that it’s quite unusual for a real estate agent to sit in class the week before Christmas, when she’s already finished her requirements for her license and it’s been extended until 2011…. but I thought it was just a wee bit out of line for the instructor to have me stand up in front of the class and call me a “sick puppy”.
I did have a good reason for sitting in class for six hours last week. In Arizona, we have the Masters of Real Estate (MRE) society, which requires quite a bit of additional training, volunteer service, and more. I thought I’d completed all the requirements for the year, but getting called away from the National Association of REALTORS conference early threw me off track.
So, yes, I sat in another class on Saturday morning, December 22nd, along with eight other hardy souls, and an funny instructor in a Santa hat.
I finished my hours, submitted my application, and will now await for the formal notice of my acceptance into MRE for another two years.
I’m a firm believer in education. You can tell by the alphabet soup behind my name.
MS (Computer Science), MBA, CRS, GRI, ABR, e-PRO
MRE Society 2006-2007
I’ve been questioned about my commitment to (or preoccupation with?) with learning, and can tell you that it’s as simple as this: The more I learn, the better I can help others. My clients, my family, my friends. For me, it’s all about service.
Plus, I do like noodling around in my head, putting disjoint ideas together, and having the light bulb come on once in a while!
Sick puppy, hum….
