My son turns 16 today. A rite of passage for him, as much as for me.
I just can’t believe how many times I’ve heard my mother’s words come out of my mouth over the years. And now, Anita Renfro has created the Mom Song to end all Mom songs!
Of course, my son doesn’t think this video is all that funny… yet.

My son turned 16 in September. I feel your pain. Wait until your son drives away in a car, by himself…
I posted this video a couple of months ago and Francy is still using the, “it must be your fathers DNA” line.
So funny, yet so true. My husband’s son just turned 13 and someone said those ever magical words to him “Now, that you’re a teen-ager” … Now, he uses that as his get-out-of-jail free card. “I don’t have to (listen), because now I’m a teen-ager” Ugh! Sorry, Jay – we Moms know that it must be the Father’s DNA that causes our angelic off-spring to behave in such a manner! I know I never did!
Happy Birthday to your Young Man, Dru and Congratulations to you for making it this far! Keep up the good work.
Jay, Every time I watch this video I laugh a little harder. I showed it to my dad the other day, and the song just didn’t have the same impact! On the other hand, my mom thought it was hilarious.
Driving… I’m having a mental block on this one… will have to get back to you. Good news (I think), is that he has no real interest.
Calie, You have a teenager! tee-hee. I can’t think of what else to say, other than, let’s compare notes in a few years, or call me when you need to talk!
