Scottsdale Unified School District voters passed both school bonds in yesterday’s election.
The Maintenance and Override bond will fund 179 teaching positions, reduce class size, as well as funding specialized programs, such as music and fine arts.
The Capital Override will be used for classroom related items including school furniture and equipment, library materials, classroom instruction materials, fine arts equipment, playground improvements and athletic equipment and on technology for network support.
Scottsdale Unified School District already has one of the largest numbers of excelling schools in the state, and the district is committed to continued improvement. The passing of these two bonds, in conjunction with the re-structuring of current district financing will result in a very minimal tax increase of approximately 19 cents a day for the average priced home of $465,000.
